TIGERS BOSS STILL FEELS ROAR

- BY GARETH WALKER

Wigan v Castleford 7.45pm

DARYL POWELL gets a regular and “harsh” reminder of last year’s Grand Final heartache every time Sky’s rugby league coverage comes on.

The Castleford coach is shown looking to the Manchester skies at the end of his side’s 24-6 defeat to Leeds at Old Trafford. Now Powell (above) and the Tigers stand 80 minutes away from another shot at glory when they face Wigan in tonight’s semi-final – and he will not shy away from the hurt of 2017.

Powell said: “It’s a bit of a harsh reminder when it comes on TV. That was a lonely place to be after that game. We’ve used a couple of pictures of me talking to the players after the game, because I was speaking about using that as motivation in the future.

“When you come to these games you bolt together all the emotion and disappointment of what happened to us, and you use that as a driver.

“I think we’re in a great place to put that straight.”
