GERRARD’S MORE THAN HAPPY

-

ALFREDO MORELOS scored twice to give Steven Gerrard his first win in Europe as a manager.

Rangers looked the better team for much of the match, but it was the Austrian side who took the lead in the 42nd minute when Betun Verisha tapped in at the far post.

But their advantage didn’t last long as, just a minute later, Rangers skipper James Tavernier put over a low cross from the right and Morelos directed the ball firmly into the net to send the teams in level at half-time.

Morelos was again involved for Gers’ second when he was brought down and Tavernier put away the penalty.

And Morelos settled the nerves of Gerrard (right) in injury-time after Daniel Candeias backheeled the ball to send the Colombian in to score again.
