MoD druggie ‘let off’ blast

THE move to lure back soldiers kicked out of the Army for illegal drugs is a step too far, says Falklands veteran Simon Weston.

The Ministry of Defence has contacted thousands of expelled troops, offering up to £10,000 for them to return at the same rank.

Mr Weston said: “Bringing back drug-takers two years after they were caught is a step too far.

“But we have to stomach it because the Government has made such a mess of managing recruitment.”
