Parade is for all of us

■ I get so annoyed when I hear about things being stopped because of overthe-top health and safety. The latest? Under-11s banned from attending a Remembrance Day Parade in Bridgend, Mid Glamorgan. How disrespectful. Us oldies got here without these rules. Restrictions prevent youngsters from learning and becoming stronger mentally and physically. Terry Wray Cleveleys, Lancs

■ I have a pet fly, Archie, and he is a survivor. I got rid of his mates with fly spray in the summer, but Archie is still with me. He’s in the bedroom when I wake up, follows me when I make my tea and when I quietly open the cupboard door to get the fly spray, he spies me and scarpers. Later he will appear on my easy chair, and continue to annoy me for most of the day! Any ideas? Elizabeth Owen Skegness, Lincs
