Bielsa’s a messiah says Tata
LEEDS UNITED will be revolutionised by boss Marcelo Bielsa, according to one of his “disciples.”
Tata Martino, the ex-Argentina and Barcelona manager, believes the impact of his former coach and inspiration will be felt at Elland Road for years.
Martino, who is currently in charge of MLS side Atlanta, played under his fellow Argentine at Newell Old Boys, with a young Mauricio Pochettino, and said: “Bielsa had a big impact on us as coaches.
“He only coached me for four years but that was enough. We are all disciples of Bielsa. He is called Loco because the thinkers in football are usually called Loco, but he is definitely not crazy.
“He has charisma but charisma is not enough. He is also very intellectual. He leaves a mark wherever he has gone.
“He is a coach players want to play for. He has left a footprint wherever he has been.”
Leeds were knocked off the top of the Championship on Saturday when they needed a late equaliser against Brentford to take a point at Elland Road.
