TREV REVS UP TRACTOR BOYS NOW

- BY ALEX BYWATER

TREVOH CHALOBAH’S late header handed Ipswich their first win of the season and lifted them a point clear of the bottom.

It may not sound like much but when you have had a season like the Tractor Boys, and their fans have been forced to endure, this was massive.

Town’s half-time lead had evaporated 11 minutes from time but Chalobah’s decisive strike five minutes later was cause for celebration and optimism.

Chalobah (above) said: “It was vital to get the win and now this has to be the start of something.

“We weren’t favourites for this game, but we didn’t listen to that and this has boosted our confidence a lot so now after the international break we go again.

“I play holding midfield, but I’ve already got two goals this season and I’m hoping for more.

“It was a great feeling for me to get the winner.”

Joe Rodon could not prevent Swansea’s defensive mistakes gifting Ipswich their first win but the new Wales man still believes Graham Potter’s side are among the Championship’s best.

Rodon, a late replacement for injured Newcastle defender Paul Dummett in Ryan Giggs’ squad, said: “It’s very frustrating to concede three goals, especially at home.

“We’ll look back and realise we dominated possession and created loads of chances.

“We’re a young team, but we don’t look too much into that. I feel we are one of the best sides in this league.

“The style of football we’re trying to bring back is great to watch. I’m sure this will be a positive season for us.”
