Car sales fall shuts plant
JAGUAR Land Rover will close its Solihull plant for two weeks.
The firm blamed the shutdown on a nearly 50% fall in sales to China.
News of the shutdown, starting on October 22, follows a move to a three day week for 2,000 at its Castle Bromwich plant.
JLR, the UK’s biggest carmaker, said it was to “align supply to reflect fluctuating demand”.
The Unite union called the Solihull closure “deeply troubling.”
