What the UK needs to do

WITHOUT major political change, the Paris agreement target to stay below a 1.5C rise in global warming will not be met.

This change will mean investing billions in a low-carbon economy and green technologies.

The UK has the skills and natural resources to be leading the world in this.

Sadly the Government’s record on climate change is dismal with investment in clean energy at its lowest since 2008.

There is a real risk the UK’s energy sector emissions will rise again, undoing years of progress.

The IPCC report does not mince its words. We need immediate radical action.
