Lack of sleep hits sex drive
MEN who stay up late and neglect their sleep lower their testosterone levels.
The male hormone, linked to sex drive and strength, fell by 1.5% for every hour of sleep lost a night, a University of Miami study has found.
Experts believe lack of sleep could interfere with brain signals that trigger the hormone. Low levels of it can cause depression.
Dr Channa Jayasena, at Imperial College London, said: “Anything that lowers a man’s testosterone is likely to be bad for them.”
