‘Not clicking was a worry’

COMPLETE The family with Hope ONE mum who had her second child using donor eggs and a surrogate says she feared she would “struggle to bond”.

Alice Jolly said this was soon overcome after her daughter Hope, now six, was born.

The 51-year-old author said: “Of course you worry about not being biological­ly related to your child and that you might not feel right, you might not bond.

“But we had waited so long the egg donation was not an issue for us after she arrived.”

Alice, who lives in Stroud, Glos, with husband Stephen Kinsella, son Tomas, 16, and Hope, considered donor eggs after she suffered four miscarriag­es.

She said: “But we would love her whatever.”
