CRUEL Lee Thompson A MAN who kept a live 4ft caiman and snakes in his bedroom before going on the run has been jailed.

Lee Thompson, 36, known as Snake, did not turn up to court in August.

But he was convicted of keeping the caiman without a licence and causing suffering to a protected animal.

Other dangerous animals found in his home in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex, in January included cobras and pythons. Seven snakes had died and were rotting.

Thompson was found by police on September 11 after nearly a month on the run. At Basildon magistrates’ court last week he was jailed for 26 weeks.

Police said: “Thompson kept wild animals in appalling conditions, ultimately causing 17 to die.”

David Jason, Nicholas Lyndhurst and Lennard Pearce IT’S vantastic to see you back... Del Boy, Rodney and Grandad are set to get us chuckling again as they pose in their tatty Robin Reliant.

The trio, played by a new cast, star in a West End musical version of popular BBC 80s sitcom Only Fools and Horses.

Only Fools creator John Sullivan began the project before he died in 2011 and John’s son Jim teamed up with The Fast Show star Paul Whitehouse to complete it.

Paul said: “Jim and I remained very faithful to the series, but also highlight some contemporary issues. It’s not just a trip down Memory Lane.”

Starring Tom Bennett as Del Boy Trotter, Ryan Hutton as Rodney and Whitehouse as Grandad, it opens at Theatre Royal Haymarket in London on February 9 and will feature more than 20 “heartwarming and hilarious” songs.
