On this day

66 YEARS AGO (1952) We covered the rail crash in which 112 died when three trains collided at Harrow and Wealdstone, North London. 59 YEARS AGO (1959) Harold Macmillan, dubbed “Supermac”, led the Tories to a third consecutive election victory with a bigger majority. 51 YEARS AGO (1967) Che Guevara, former deputy of Cuban communist leader Fidel Castro, was executed by US-backed Bolivian forces. I told my girlfriend I had a job in a bowling alley. She said: “Ten pin?” I said: “No, permanent.” Model Bella Hadid is 22. Her older sister, Gigi, is also a model. Ex-PM David Cameron is 52. He’s a descendant of King William IV. TV presenter Sharon Osbourne is 66. And many happy returns to Mirror readers John Masterman from Stockport, Greater Manchester, who is 70 and David Hambly from Plymouth who turns 84.
