More impressive moves from Alexander-Arnold
CHESS fan Trent Alexander-Arnold set out to prove he is a natural pawn winner as he took on world champion Magnus Carlsen.
No surprise that he lost to Carlsen (right) – who has reigned supreme as the world’s best for the last eight years – but he did take him to 17 moves, eight better than Microsoft genius Bill Gates last week. And it was another highlight in a stunning year for Arnold, who has established himself as Liverpool’s first choice right-back, played in a Champions League final, made his England senior debut, played at the World Cup and been nominated for Europe’s coveted Golden Boy award.
