PRAISE Fry and Turnbull STARS Bill Turnbull and Stephen Fry have been praised by a top NHS boss for raising awareness of prostate cancer.

Former BBC Breakfast host Turnbull, 62, said he had an advanced form of the disease in March.

This was just weeks after ex-QI host Fry, 61, revealed he had had prostate cancer surgery.

NHS England chief Simon Stevens said: “A debt of gratitude is owed to Bill Turnbull and Stephen Fry.”

He also announced a £10million boost for prostate cancer services to cope with rising demand.

There were 70,000 visits to the NHS England web advice page on the cancer in March, a 250% increase on the monthly average.
