Mothers risk birth defects
YOUNGER women are risking having kids with devastating birth defects by failing to take folic acid.
A study found 47% of 18 to 24-year-olds wanting babies had avoided it.
Folic acid needs to be taken before pregnancy and is crucial to preventing babies developing conditions such as spina bifida.
Dr Sarah Johnson, of SPD Development which did the survey, said she believed the message “is not getting through to younger women”. Sharon’s affair with Phil, brother of her husband Grant, sparked “Sharongate”, one of EastEnders’ most talked-about storylines of all time.
