Bluebird K7 ‘going home’

-

THE rebuilt Bluebird K7 will return to its “spiritual home” in the Lake District.

Pilot Donald Campbell died when the hydroplane flipped at over 300mph and sank on Coniston Water, Cumbria, in 1967.

Ruskin Museum Trust raised £580,000 to build a home for the craft there and it moves in next July, following a world tour.

The Bluebird launched on the Isle of Bute in the summer and Trust chair Anne Hall said: “We worked on this for years.”
