GIGGS’ FEAR ON BALE

- BY JAMES NURSEY

WALES boss Ryan Giggs will make a late fitness call on Gareth Bale after the Real Madrid superstar trained yesterday.

The country’s leading scorer came off in the late stages of Real’s 1-0 La Liga loss to Alaves on Saturday, making him doubtful to face Spain tomorrow.

It was feared to be a recurrence of a groin injury that saw Bale (right) miss Los Blancos’ Champions League tie at CSKA Moscow last week.

But the 29-year-old still joined his Welsh team-mates at their Vale of Glamorgan camp this week. He missed training on Monday to undergo a personal recovery session.

But he joined in with training yesterday and staff are confident Bale will be fit to travel for their Nations League tie in the Republic of Ireland next Tuesday.
