KANE RESTS AMID FEARS OF BURNOUT

HARRY KANE is being wrapped up in cotton wool ahead of England’s Nations League double header.

The England captain was one of several players who did not complete a full training session yesterday amid fears of burnout and excessive workload. Kane (below) finished the workout early with Jordan Henderson, Joe Gomez, Jadon Sancho and John Stones.

England boss Gareth Southgate did not start Kane for the last international with Switzerland as he feared he was playing too many games for club and country since the World Cup.

It looks like they are taking a similar approach with players this time before the internationals with Croatia and Spain.

Danny Welbeck, Alex McCarthy and Danny Rose sat out training altogether as a precaution about ongoing injury concerns.
