ON Sunday the Secretary of State for Sport, Jeremy Wright, told a TV interviewer he was a Liverpool fan. When asked who the Reds were playing that day he mumbled that he didn’t know because: “I’ve been so busy preparing for this interview.” Fair play. It was only the most hyped game of the season, against champions Manchester City. And he was only the Sports Secretary. Good to know we’ve got another Miniature for Sport who holds the game close to his heart, eh?
