Villa want Terry as No.2 to Smith

Terry, who retired from playing earlier this week, has told his former team-mates he expects to be back next week ahead of Swansea’s visit.
But Villa chief executive Christian Purslow must persuade Smith, 47 – a lifelong Villa fan – to work with the former Chelsea and England star.
Smith’s current assistant is Richard O’Kelly, but Villa have room for more as sacked boss Steve Bruce’s four coaches were also shown the door.
