He admits doing a ‘Phil & Holly’ at radio show
Congratulations to This Morning stars Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, who are so renowned for turning up to work with a hangover after winning at the National TV Awards they have become a broadcast industry slang term.
Boyzone’s Ronan Keating admits he’s pulled the odd “Phil and Holly” for his Magic radio breakfast shows.
He usually gets up at 4.30am for his 6am start but on several occasions he has still been enjoying an all-nighter when his alarm goes off...
“It’s horrible,” he says. “A couple of times now, I’ve been out and gone straight in. The last time was the
GQ awards – I was at a house party until 4.30am and I pushed right through.
“It wasn’t my best show.” This week, Ronan and his co-host Harriet Scott are up for an ARIA radio industry award at a ceremony in Leeds.
And his bosses have told him: “It’s OK if you two pull a Phil and Holly on Friday morning.”
“If we get an award, we might just go nuts,” he says.
“I’ll turn up in my pyjamas. Or I’ll still be in my tux.”
No doubt he will have to roll straight through after more nights out when Boyzone go on the road for their final tour next year. It kicks off in January, following the release of what is also their final album, Thank You & Goodnight, out on November 16.
