Triplet, five, died in villa’s pool on hols

TRAGEDY Archie drowned A BOY of five drowned in a villa swimming pool on the first day of a family holiday.

Archie Skidmore – one of triplets – had removed his lifejacket-style buoyancy aid and got in the water unsupervis­ed, the inquest heard.

His parents were on the balcony when they saw him in the pool.

Mum Rachel said: “He was floating face down.”

The mother, a trained first aider, called an ambulance and gave her son CPR but it was in vain.

Archie, of Belbrought­on, Worcs, was joined by his two brothers and grandparen­ts on the trip to the Algarve in Portugal in July.

The coroner at the inquest in Worcester concluded the youngster’s death was accidental.
