BRANDON SMITH WHO DRESSED AS ADOLF HITLER A REVELLER dressed as Hitler appears to flash a Nazi salute at a children’s Halloween party.

Insensitive Brandon Smith sparked fury when he appeared on stage in a fascist uniform with swastika armband.

But the 27-year-old refused to apologise for the stunt at a holiday camp, insisting mimicking the genocidal maniac was merely a “bit of fun”.

One guest said: “It was outrageous. There are limits when it comes to this and this really crossed the line.

“There was an ex-Army officer there and he was visibly upset by it all.”

Another added: “It was unbelievable. What made him think it was acceptable in any shape or form?

“It would be bad enough at an adult’s party but there were kids there too who have probably been learning all about the Second World War.”

Mr Smith wore the Nazi outfit at Sand Le Mere Holiday Village in Holderness, East Yorks. The camp apologised.

But he said: “I disagree with the people who are saying it is wrong.

“It was only a bit of fun and I am not happy with how it has been dealt with. I haven’t done anything wrong at all.”

Mr Smith, who was at the party with his family, also denied claims by the camp he was told to cover up the swastika by security guards.

He also insisted his outfit won the best fancy dress outfit of the night.

“I went up on stage to collect the prize and was given a £50 voucher for behind the bar,” he said, adding: “Security didn’t come up to me and tell me to cover up the badges.

“A couple of my friends and family said I had to cover them up so I did.”

But Sand le Mere said the competition was won by someone dressed as Dorothy from Wizard of Oz.

General manager Rebecca Grant said: “Unfortunately, a member of the same group, who was dressed in a Hitler costume, was allowed entry to the event, although our security team asked him to cover up badges on his outfit.

“We agree this costume was in poor taste and will put in place stricter guidelines for future events. We are very sorry to anyone who was offended.” APOLOGY The holiday camp
