MEGHAN Markle’s mum is set to spend Christmas Day with the Royal Family.

Sources yesterday claimed that the Queen had extended an invitation to her LA-based in-law.

Just months on from the royal wedding, Doria Ragland, 62, has been asked to Sandringham, the Queen’s estate in Norfolk

The source said: “It’s a mark of the Queen’s respect for Meghan and an acknowledgement that she doesn’t have any other relations in this country.” HELP Air ambulance at the scene WITNESSES have claimed there were too many children on an inflatable slide, after eight youngsters fell off it and were injured at a fair.

It comes as police yesterday launched an investigation into Saturday night’s accident.

Some onlookers at the fireworks display and funfair in Woking Park, Surrey, said they feared that there were too many children on the slide at once.

Andy Datson, 23, said: “We had been walking past it earlier in the night and said it looked unsafe. It looked pretty flimsy to say the least. There were far too many kids on it. It didn’t look like it could hold that many people.”

Several parents saw “lots of children” on the slide and some did not let their youngsters on it.

The event’s organisers failed to comment on the number of children as an inquiry is pending. Seven of the eight injured children, all aged under 16, have been released from hospital. One was kept in for observation but his injuries are “not thought to be significant”.

Last night, Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey, David Munro, said: “It could have been so much worse. Was it down to the ride safety precautions or too many people on the ride?” Police appealed for anyone with footage of the incident to get in touch.

Michael Holden, of Woking District Rotary Club, which organised the event, said: “We are going to carry out a full review.

“It looks to be to do with the way the ride was operated.”

John Edwards, who hired the slide on behalf of the club, denied earlier reports it had collapsed.

He added: “It definitely was not overcrowded. The children were injured because they fell 10-12ft from the slide... on to grass.”
