Tindall: The Queen really loves my Christmas suit
Ace adds sparkle to Royal festivities
RUGBY legend Mike Tindall turned from centre to Santa and wowed the Queen at Sandringham.
The World Cup winner, husband to the Queen’s granddaughter Zara, brought festive fun to the Royals’ more formal Christmas by wearing a red suit.
Mike, 40, appeared on website JOE’s House of Rugby podcast in a suit decked with Christmas trees.
The ex England captain and dad to Mia Grace, four and Lena Elizabeth, six months, said: “This year we opened presents on Christmas Eve – I wore one of these. And just to give a little punch on Christmas morning I came down in a different little set-up.
“The Queen loves bright colours. She thinks dark colours are for sad times.”

Mike explained: “By the time I’d have normally got up I’ve been to church twice. It’s completely different – I’ve never had to take as many outfits anywhere.”
He also revealed he and Olympian Zara, 37, spent a private Christmas morning with the Queen two years ago, shortly after she had a miscarriage. Mike said that the Queen “was
HE’LL GO FIR Mike in his suit, right, Zara Spencer Matthews was among group not feeling very well so did not go to church.
“We’d been through what we’d been through, so we did our own little [ceremony].
“I had a suit on like this. I was trying to raise the mood.”
He also told how he joined the Queen and watched her Christmas broadcast with the other Royals.
