Thomas Jnr is arrested over the legal limit
MEGHAN Markle’s halfbrother Thomas Jnr has been arrested for drink-driving.
The 52-year-old was close to his home when he was stopped in the early hours yesterday.
Roadside tests by police in the US found he was over the limit.
Captain Tim Fox, of Oregon State Police, said: “We arrested a Thomas Lane Markle Jnr at about 1.30am. His blood alcohol concentration [was] .11%. The legal limit is .08.”
Thomas Jnr, the son of Meghan’s father Thomas Snr, was taken to a sobering centre.
The former glazier’s Chevy Silverado truck was impounded.
Dad Thomas Snr said: “My son has a serious problem and he needs help, and I hope he gets it.”
Thomas Jnr’s sister Samantha Markle added: “His drinking is not related to Meghan. He always drank.”
His arrest, in Grants Pass, Josephine County, comes just days after he announced he will marry his fiancee in March.
Meghan and Prince Harry are invited. But, like his dad and sister, Thomas Jnr is estranged from the Duchess of Sussex, who is expecting her first child. The arrest also comes two years after Thomas Jnr was charged for allegedly holding a gun to fiancee Darlene Blount’s head.
The dad of two was taken into custody after a drunken row, said to have escalated into violence. The charges were later dismissed. Then in July 2018, Darlene was arrested over an incident that allegedly left her fiance with a black eye. Thomas Jnr stood by her and refused to press charges against her.
