ALAN BROWNE believes Preston’s January window signings can fire them up the Championship table.

New recruits Brad Potts (above) and Jayden Stockley impressed on their debuts for the 10-man Lilywhites as they fought back to pick up a precious point.

And with a string of players returning from injuries, Ireland midfielder Browne believes now is the time for North End to capitalise and fulfil their potential.

“The new signings will enhance us,” predicted Browne. “It’s fantastic we’ve got some new faces, especially considering the injuries we’ve had. But we’re getting players back as well, so it’s all coming together.

“Finally we have the main core of our team back and available.”

Midfielder Potts has joined for £1.6million from Barnsley, while sought-after striker Stockley has signed for £750,000 from Exeter having bagged 16 goals in League Two this term.

“Anyone who the boss brings in will have calibre,” added Browne.

“We needed these players, so hopefully they’ll settle in well now.

“The new boys have been really good in training and they’ll only get better.”

Midfielder Courtney BakerRichardson fired the Swans ahead nine minutes after the restart. But Preston were awarded a penalty which Daniel Johnson converted, before North End sub Josh Earl was sent off in the 81st minute.

Swansea defender Connor Roberts was deemed to have handled for the penalty, but said: “I could say all sorts, but at the end of the day it wasn’t a penalty. We were very unfortunate.”
