Bros hit back after TV show

-

After finding themselves the stars of Christmas TV’s unlikeliest hit, Bros are going back into the studio to create more Goss gold.

Buoyed by the reaction to their (unintentionally) hilarious documentary Bros: After The Screaming Stops (which you really need to watch on iPlayer if you haven’t already seen it), Matt and Luke Goss announced they will return for a special gig at the O2 Academy Brixton on July 5.

And sources say they’ll be making more music after that – no doubt featuring the Matt Goss-pel choir.

(Watch – or re-watch – the doc if that sounds unfamiliar.)

The source says: “There’s been a bit of mickey-taking, especially about some of the boys’ more eccentric ideas, like campaigning to save conkers. But generally, the reaction has been really positive, and that has meant a lot to both of them.

“They feel really inspired to create new music together.”

The group last had a hit in 1991, but released a single in 2017 around their comeback show – all filmed for the movie, which has drawn quite a few comparisons to This Is Spinal Tap.

Luke describes the doc as a “brutal experience”, like having “therapy with a wooden bat”.

“We didn’t want to do a promo piece,” Matt tells GQ.

“There was genuine tension between us… it was like there were three layers of eggshells on every floor that I walked on.”

Oh, and on that conkers campaign, Matt adds to the mag: “I want to get hats with ‘Make Conkers Great Again’.”

Seriously, watch the doc. It’s amazing.
