As a new series of Ancient Aliens claims extra-terrestrials once lived on Earth, we ask…
IT’S the ultimate cosmic conundrum – are humans alone in the universe?
Or is the solar system actually teeming with life that we just don’t know about yet?
Despite all those reports of alien abductions, strange sightings and curious crop circles, we’re still waiting for a conclusive answer.
So perhaps we should be asking a slightly different question...
Have planet-hopping species from outer space already been and gone?
A new series of Ancient Aliens on BLAZE is exploring the possibility that aliens made first contact years ago – and that they may even have lived among our earliest civilisations.
With the help of ufologists and archaeological experts, host Giorgio Tsoukalos examines 75 million years of evidence here on Earth.
He’ll ask whether superior space-faring species could have provided alien assistance when it came to building some of the world’s most famous architectural wonders.
Ahead of the launch of the show’s new series tonight on BLAZE, we’ve assembled a team of writers and extra-terrestrial experts to tell us what they think… Thanks to my grandmother, alternative views about history were dinner table conversation. It opened my mind to all the possibilities.
Ancient alien theory suggests our DNA was artificially changed by extraterrestrials, and our civilisation jumpstarted. Only in the last 50,000 years, this quantum leap happened where we went from munching bananas in a cave to essentially building civilisations. Giorgio (right) gathers evidence
In my opinion, the most tangible evidence is when we look at ancient stone-cutting techniques. In some cases, we ourselves today could not replicate what our ancestors accomplished. The ruins at Puma Punku defy logic.
Ancient Egyptians demonstrated an exceptional level of skill. Did they do it on their own? Or did they have access to information that was not of this Earth? ADVERTISING FEATURE

Britain’s ‘UFO files’ are no longer secret. In 2008, 52,000 pages of information on unidentified things in the sky, collected by the Ministry of Defence, were made available to the public.
But do these documents prove we have been visited from outer space?
In my opinion, the success of the open government programme lies in the fact that, whatever you believe, you can now see for yourself what constitutes the ‘evidence’ and make up your own mind.
The files contain details of around 6,000 separate observations reported to the authorities since 1984.
They demonstrate that, in the vast majority of examples, UFOs turn out to be IFOs – Identified Flying Objects.
Chinese lanterns and balloons, aircraft, bright stars and planets, meteors, space junk, unusual weather and rare natural phenomena can explain more than 95%. As for the remaining 5%, we should always remember that the U stands for ‘unidentified’ – not ‘alien spaceship’.
The truth about UFOs and the people who see them is right here in the files – not in outer space. It’s not a question of whether there is extra-terrestrial life out there. It’s a question of whether they are visiting us.
I have been with the British UFO Research Association since 1991 and this subject teaches us how little we really know.
I have learned so much more from those who feel that they have had an extraordinary experience.
When people report sightings we will investigate them, always analysing photographs along with supporting evidence. Most of them can be explained – by a raindrops on the lens, for example, or a bird they didn’t notice. But some can’t.
Most have a rational explanation. There is not enough information about others to make a full evaluation.
Personally, I’ve never seen anything I couldn’t explain or identify.
But there have been cases in Cumbria, Teesside and Surrey where there appears to be no rational explanation for a sighting reported to BUFORA.
It’s not only that the universe is stranger than we imagine. It’s stranger than we can imagine.
I think, as human beings, we look out there for something else to save us.
It’s a very human thing to feel, and I keep an open mind.
Do I think extra-terrestrial life exists? Definitely. Have they come to this planet? I can honestly say I don’t know. It’s long been said that if aliens came to Earth and saw one species picking up the excrement of another, they would assume that dogs were in charge... and that’s the least of it.
The extraterrestrials would be incredibly confused. They would presume the canines calling the shots were doing so on smart phones – and rule with an iron paw, which is why everyone’s so terrified of missing any communication that they never take their eyes off their screens for a second.
They would also be bemused by celebrity culture too, and why it is that we worship people with no discernible talent, rather than those who do good and make a difference to the world. One quick look at Kim Kardashian’s Twitter feed would obviously clear that up for them though. They would understand that she’s the most important thinker of our, or any, time.
Of course, if the aliens stuck around they would work out what’s really going on.
Or maybe not, actually... because what’s harder to believe – that Trump and May are in charge, or Rover and Fido?
