Corrie’s Lucy joins VIPs at Man City star’s charity party
CORRIE’S Lucy Fallon, Gary Lineker and Noel Gallagher were among the stars helping footballer Vincent Kompany support the homeless last night.
They attended a glitzy fundraising dinner organised by the Man City skipper, 32, who is using his testimonial year to launch and promote new charity Tackle4MCR.
Rough sleeping has soared in Manchester since Kompany joined the club in 2008.
The Belgian said: “There is no real way to explain to your children when trying to raise them in a proper way that you haven’t tried everything you can do to help tackle this issue.”
Lucy, 23, who plays Bethany Platt in the ITV soap, was joined by fellow cast members at the Manchester Hilton bash.
Rocker Noel was due to play a set and Match of the Day presenter Gary paid £15,000 in a football shirt auction.
Man City boss Pep Guardiola was among the guests, as were players past and present, Joe Hart and Kyle Walker, and Happy Mondays star Bez.
Kompany described Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s attendance as “an incredible touch of class”.
He said: “There is no game I want to win more than a derby.
“But if we can come together for bigger issues, we multiply the strength of both clubs by an amount that is phenomenal.”
