A COUPLE who lost four young children in a house blaze were believed to have been held yesterday on suspicion of their manslaughter.

Detectives were understood to be quizzing Natalie Unitt, 24, and Chris Moulton, 28, following the tragedy on Tuesday.

Riley Holt, eight, Keegan Unitt, six, Tilly Unitt, four, and Olly Unitt, three, died in the fire. Unitt and Moulton jumped from a bedroom window with son Jack, two.

Police declined to release further details but confirmed it is now a manslaughter probe.

They did not name the two suspects but said they were arrested at Royal Stoke University Hospital.

The force said: “After an update from investigators into the probable cause of the fire we arrested a 24-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man on suspicion of manslaughter by gross negligence.”

The fire broke out in the property in the Highfields area of Stafford at 2.40am.

Neighbours told how Unitt and Moulton – dad to three of the dead kids – watched the blaze on the street. A PENSIONER’S passion for penguins gave care home residents a wonderful surprise as they met the creatures.

Annie Thelwell, 92, said she had wanted to meet one – and Mountbatten Grange, Windsor, Berks, got two to waddle in.

Annie, left, and other residents including Margaret Purvis, above, petted and fed Humboldts Charlie and Pringle from Heythrop Zoo, Oxon.

Care home manager Saad Baig said: “We managed to keep the visit a complete surprise, so it was incredible to see Annie light up when they waddled in.”
