400 jobs lost a day already

NEARLY 19,000 high street jobs have been lost or threatened since Christmas, a new report reveals.

The Altus Group says the equivalent of 400 jobs a day face being axed – with 9,000 going at Tesco.

Another report shows 18,355 shops shut in 2019, more than any other year.

The Mirror’s High Street Fightback campaign is calling for rate cuts to help shops beat online rivals.
