Tainted blood files ‘missing’

SOME 950 files relating to contaminated blood were removed by officials and have disappeared.

A Government Internal Audit Agency report from after the Infected Blood Inquiry started was released under Freedom of Information laws to campaigner Jason Evans.

Mr Evans, 29, suing the Government over his dad’s 1993 death, said: “Was this part of a cover-up?”

The Department of Health said it is “being open with the inquiry”.
