Rita, Sue and Robert too
Cold Feet’s David Marsden is working his way through the cast of cult movie Rita, Sue and Bob Too.
The character has already enjoyed a relationship with “Rita”, played by Siobhan Finneran, and now he’s moving on to “Sue”, played by Michelle Holmes.
In the 1987 Bradford-set comedy, both actresses play teenage babysitters who embark on an affair with married Bob. Its memorable strapline was: “Thatcher’s Britain with her knickers down.”
Now, 32 years later, the women share another love interest in Cold Feet’s David, who is played by Robert Bathurst.
Benidorm star Siobhan, 52, has already played David’s posh girlfriend Nikki in the series.
And viewers are set to meet Mary, played by 52-year-old Michelle (pictured right) in the last episode of the hit ITV series later this month.
David has been desolate after splitting from Nikki, and has ended up jobless and then homeless. Robert, 61, said: “It looks like the abyss for David. He doesn’t know quite how to cope.” New love interest Mary will be introduced as the boss of a local cafe, where David starts helping out.
And Bob’s your boyfriend, as well as your mate’s.
