It’s time to get serious

■ Why is Channel 4 giving airtime to a bunch of Z-listers on Famous & Fighting Crime? What difference will this make when we are struggling with senseless murders, a reduction in police resources and an uncaring Government whose only focus is Brexit? The money and time would be better spent on addressing the serious issue of the increasing murder rate, not massaging the egos of so-called celebrities. Kathy Gentle-Green South East London

■ The most stunning hypocrisy of Venezuela’s ongoing crisis is the US claiming it needs to intervene because people are starving under a dictatorship, while at the same time it works with dictators putting millions at risk of starving to death in Yemen. US interventions always end in disaster while corporations have a feeding frenzy on the corpse of the liberated country.
