FANS CRY IN THEIR BEER

-

ORIOL ROMEU admitted Southampton “gave it away twice” after conceding two late goals.

New boss Ralph Hasenhuttl called the Saints’ first Premier League defeat this year a “disaster”, while captain Pierre Hojbjerg branded the performance “unacceptable”.

The Austrian’s reign began in December by buying free beer for Saints fans, but there were different boos at full-time on Saturday.

“We were close to the draw, but we gave it away twice so we didn’t deserve anything,” said Romeu (left). “The set-pieces was the thing we didn’t do well. We know how hard it is to come back.”

Southampton will now go on a training camp in Tenerife before facing Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham.

“We’re trying to get our heads ready as there are tough games coming,” added the Spaniard.
