FLOWERS IN REDS ALERT AFTER WIN
SOLIHULL MOORS boss Tim Flowers was left counting the cost of his side’s win at Ebbsfleet that was marred by a mass brawl and four red cards.
Solihull moved up to second in the National League thanks to a strike from Adi Yussuf (above).
But the game ended in chaos after a stoppagetime fight involving both sets of players that resulted in red cards for Solihull’s Luke Maxwell and Ebbsfleet’s Bagasan Graham.
Home midfielder Dean Rance then collected a second yellow card for diving and Solihull’s Danny Wright walked for an off-the-ball incident.
Flowers said: “The chaos descended and it became a bit of a bear pit. I can’t see what’s going on over there.
“There’s a melee of pretty much 22 men in a 10 by 10 grid. It’ll all get dissected I’m sure.
“The sad thing for us is we’ve got a game against Aldershot on Tuesday and two suspensions.”
Victory means Flowers’ side cut Leyton Orient’s lead at the top of the division to one point after the leaders were held to a 1-1 draw at Hartlepool.
And Wrexham moved up to third after making a winning start under new boss Bryan Hughes.
Sub Stuart Beavon clinched a 1-0 victory for the Welsh cub against Dagenham and Redbridge.
Hughes said: “We could have made it a lot easier for ourselves, we had numerous chances to kill the game off, but the players did what was asked of them.”
Bottom club Braintree stunned promotion-chasing Salford with Callum Morton’s added-time strike.
And Chesterfield moved out of the relegation places after Scott Boden’s secondhalf penalty claimed a 1-0 win against Halifax.
Spireites boss John Sheridan said: “I changed the formation today and luckily it worked.”
