Forces face £2.7bn hole in pensions

-

THE Armed Forces face a £2.66billion pension shortfall by 2024, Labour says.

In November Chancellor Philip Hammond announced an additional £1.8billion for defence.

But military pensions will be £810million short in 2020, £880million the next year and £970million in 2023-24, say official figures.

Labour MP Stephanie Peacock said: “The Government needs to rethink its whole attitude to our public servants.

“They protect us and it’s about time ministers started protecting them.”

Defence Minister Tobias Ellwood said the amount paid into the pension scheme needs to increase. GREY and balding, and with signs of ageing around his eyes, Russell Crowe is unrecognisable in his latest role.

The Gladiator star 53, plays the disgraced late Fox News boss Roger Ailes in upcoming TV series The Loudest Voice In The Room.

And by his side is the equally transformed Sienna Miller, 37, made up to look two decades older as Ailes’s wife Elizabeth Tilson, now 58.
