Carers refuse contract work

-

FINANCIAL pressures have forced three in five social care providers to close parts of their operation or hand contracts back to local authorities.

A study for charity Hft found one in 10 fears a dip in care quality if their finances do not improve.

It also suggested most providers think low pay is the biggest barrier to finding and retaining staff.

Hft’s Billy Davis said: “This year’s sector pulse check is a red flag for the future of social care.”
