Cycling ace ‘nearly killed by van driver’

CLOSE CALL Jason Kenny OLYMPIC cyclist Jason Kenny has told how he and his toddler son Albert were almost killed by a van driver while out riding.

Jason, 30, who has won a record six Olympic golds, confronted the man – who blamed him for the nearmiss on a country lane.

Jason wrote on Twitter: “On a Sunday afternoon ride with our 18 months old son only to be almost run over by a van driver who drove at us, then angrily inform[s] me it was my fault we nearly died.”

The Team GB star, married to fellow Olympic rider Laura Trott, was cycling near their home in Macclesfield, Cheshire.

He added: “In his dense skull he believes he has right of way so he’s willing to kill? I’m ashamed to breathe the same air.” Daily Mirror Columnist
