AT LAST Ted and Samantha A WOMAN who had four miscarriages in a year has given birth after pioneering treatment.

Samantha Catanach was told her heartbreak was due to an over-aggressive immune system.

With NHS help unsuccessful, the 32-year-old began researching online.

And when she became pregnant a fifth time she paid £7,500 to have five courses of specialist steroids at a London clinic.

She and husband Martin, 34, now have a baby boy named Ted.

Dance teacher Samantha, of Hessle, near Hull, said “We came to the end of the road with NHS testing and being told to keep trying.”

Now she is raising cash to help local mums who have lost babies. Her high heel PROUD cougar Caroline Flack was saved from a wardrobe malfunction at the Brits when pals gaffer taped her broken shoe. She giggled as she hobbled to Warner Music’s Brits afterparty at London’s Chiltern Firehouse and shared a pic of the men fixing her strap at the O2 do.

The 39-year-old Love Island host partied with Strictly Come Dancing’s AJ Pritchard, 24, before kissing another guy. Caroline and AJ were seen snogging at the National TV Awards last month but AJ has denied the pair are dating.

This time she was canoodling with a music executive. A source said: “Caroline and the exec are old friends. They’d been flirting all night and shared a cheeky kiss. She was having lots of fun.” Shortly before the awards, Caroline posted a chat in which she said: “If ‘cougar’ is supposed to be an insult, I’ll wear it as a badge of honour.” She later popped out of the Firehouse, where she was staying, in a pink slip dress. COMEDIAN Jo Brand and former Dragons’ Den businessman Theo Paphitis have joined our campaign to keep the TV licence free for over-75s.

They backed the Mirror and Age UK to keep the free licence, adding their voices to more than 14,000 readers who have filled in coupons supporting our campaign.

Ministers insist the BBC had accepted responsibility to meet the costs, around £745million a year, from 2020 but the Corporation says it cannot afford it.

Brand said: “We’re all living longer. We aren’t going to be running marathons, we’re going to be watching telly.

“Given the retirement age is going up and up because we can’t afford pensions, the Caroline in pink with pal; AJ, left SUPPORT Jo Brand and Theo Paphitis

very least we could do is let them slump down in front of a telly when they are old.”

Theo said: “It’s just another body blow for them. It’s very difficult for elderly people and someone has to find a solution.”

A BBC consultation on free licences ended last week and an outcome is expected in June, it said.
