Griffin was leader of the BNP between 1999 and 2014 and was an MEP for North West England between 2009 and 2014. The controvers­ial party was founded by former members of the fascist National Front in 1982.

At the height of its success in the 2000s it had over 50 seats in local government and two MEPs. Griffin was once given a suspended prison sentence for DIVISIVE Griffin incitement of racial hatred.

He was declared bankrupt in 2014 and expelled from the BNP that year.

A RIGHTMOVE property listing was taken down after house-hunters spotted a mural depicting ex-BNP leader Nick Griffin as Adolf Hitler.

The giant graffiti-style picture, which states “I have no idols, vote BNP”, appeared in an ad for the three-bedroom home.

Griffin is stylised as Nazi leader Hitler, while his eyes also appear to have swastikas inside them.

It is not clear if the image is pro-BNP, or intended to mock Griffin and the far-right party.

Rightmove said it spoke to the estate agent, William Jones, which removed the image from its listing for a property in Didcot, Oxfordshir­e.
