WE DREAM THE SAME DREAM
Bielsa: We want same thing as fans... promotion
MARCELO BIELSA claims Leeds can use the energy of the fans’ promotion dream to fuel their title bid.
He knows just how desperate the supporters are to end their 15-year exile from the top flight.
“The fans’ expectations are legitimate,” said the Elland Road boss. “We know that the fans are thinking about the chances of the team being promoted. We have the same hopes as the fans.
“Firstly because we want the same thing as them. Secondly because we know we represent the feelings of many people – and this has to increase our strength.”
Bielsa (left) insists he can carry this weight of expectation, claiming: “I never get tired.”
The Argentinian’s side are third – with a game in hand on Sheffield United and Norwich above them – ahead of today’s home clash with Bolton.
“In football it is very difficult to make forecasts,” he added. “One of the things that makes football so attractive is that it is possible the team that doesn’t deserve to win actually does win.”
So Bielsa cannot offer any guarantee that Leeds will beat Wanderers, even though Phil Parkinson’s side are struggling badly.
“We are expected to win because Norwich won 4-0 against Bolton,” he said.
“We are focused on winning, but I can’t say whether we will win convincingly or not.”
