ONLY A DELAY IS DEFINITE

-

Brexit is unlikely to happen on March 29 when two-thirds of Britain’s trade is with the European Union or countries with EU deals.

Theresa May knows it will be delayed but pretends otherwise until MPs decide next month on the fate of her bad deal.

To resurrect the corpse of a plan which should be dead after a historic 230-vote defeat in Parliament, will mean pulling off the biggest comeback since Lazarus. Quite simply, 32 days is not enough time to implement legislation to salvage jobs and businesses, never mind maintain national security.

No deal is not a runner and another referendum is still possible should Parliament remain paralysed.

But anyone claiming they are able to predict with absolute certainty what will happen is either lying or you should ask them for this week’s lottery numbers. »What if Home Secretary Sajid Javid loses a legal challenge from Shamima Begum’s family? What if a court rules he acted unlawfully in making a British citizen stateless when she’s never had a Bangladeshi passport, or been to the country refusing to take her?

What if he’s found to have ignored warnings from his own Department’s legal experts?

What if he’s unmasked for misleading the public to boost his prospects of succeeding May as Prime Minister? When the IS bride groomed at 15 is our problem she might prove a cynical Home Secretary’s undoing.
