JUST A POINT BUT NO HARF MEASURES..
LUTON’S charge towards the Championship was slowed after six wins on the trot.
But acting boss Mick Harford won’t be losing any sleep after Coventry restricted them to a point at Kenilworth Road.
If they have invested in the promotion bubbly yet, it will have to stay on ice for a while.
But Harford’s Hatters are odds-on to go up as League One champions and have a sevenpoint cushion over third-placed Sunderland.
A well-worked goal from Jordan Shipley (above) saw Luton drop home points for only the fourth time this season.
Harford (below) wasn’t complaining. He said: “We are disa disappointed with th the result b because in my opinion we did enough to win t the game.
“I thought we were brilliant in the second half. We tried to create opportunities and they barely got in our half.”
Luton looked a decent bet yesterday when Matty Pearson’s 16th-minute downward header was given an assist by a goalkeeping howler from Lee Burge, only for Shipley to reply 11 minutes later.
James Collins shot over early on before Pearson headed home James Justin’s corner.
Mid-table Coventry responded with a spell of pressure which brought a deserved equaliser when substitute Shipley, on for the injured Amadou Bakayoko, calmly slotted home from close range.
Luton dominated the second half with the influential Alan McCormack setting up a number of chances.
Coventry boss Mark Robins was delighted by his side’s resilience.
He said: “Luton are a really good side.
“It took us a while to get used to it and get our foot into it today, but once we did, we looked good, too, and caused a threat.”
