UNSURE IF I’M STRAIGHT OR MIGHT BE GAY

I think I’m straight but, weirdly enough, I also think that if I were to think about someone of the same sex for long enough, I would be able to have a crush on them.

When I was younger, I kissed a lot of girls, but I’ve never actually had a crush on one. Do you think I could be bisexual, or just curious?

Most of the time I’m into boys and hang around with them, and never see myself having a serious relationship with a girl.

I’m confused – can you help?

You do sound confused, but that’s OK. It’s not clear yet what your sexual preference is, but in time you will find out and it’ll be because you meet someone you really fall for and, if that’s someone of the same sex, it’s fine.

Reading between the lines, I think what you might be battling against is that traditional view of what romantic relationships should involve.

But there’s never been a better time to be exactly the person you want to be, and be proud of it, whether that’s straight, gay or bi.

So don’t worry about it so much and try to enjoy your friendships and making new relationships.

You haven’t met the person who’s lit that spark yet, but rest assured, there’s nothing wrong or odd about having a more fluid sexuality and dating people irrespective of their gender.

Whatever happens will be right for you.
