LAMPS: MY STUTTERING RAMS WILL BOUNCE BACK
vChampionship, kick-off 7.45pm
FRANK LAMPARD has demanded a big reaction from his shell-shocked Derby players.
The Rams go into four back-toback home games against Wigan tonight, still reeling from Saturday’s 4-0 surrender at Villa Park. Lampard (left) blew a fuse at half-time – but the rookie boss insists Derby aren’t in crisis.
Lampard, whose side are three points off the play-offs, said: “I spoke honestly. We have to take what happened at Villa on the chin, but we want a big reaction.
“It can’t be happy days all the time. If there’s things that need to be said then it’s my job to say them. But it’s a quick turnaround and everybody at this club needs to be positive now.”
On-loan Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori said: “We can’t just forget what happened but we have to use it as motivation.
“It might be a massive wake-up call. We have to learn from it and I have to learn from it. Having four home games one after the other is unusual and it’s a chance for us to hopefully get some points.
“This is a real opportunity for us to get back on track.”
Defender Richard Keogh is set to make his 600th appearance, and Lampard added: “He’s played every minute for us this season and he’s been one of our top players. He’s been incredible.”
