Vegan sausage rolls ‘endanger the orangutan’
They use oil that causes deforestation
GREGGS vegan sausage rolls contain a palm oil blamed for the mass deforestation threatening to wipe out Bornean orangutans.
The firm yesterday announced sales had topped £1billion for the first time, a 10% rise partly credited to the success of the £1 quorn snack.
TV host Piers Morgan, a vegan critic, posted a photo of orangutans, saying: “Sacrificed at the altar of @GreggsOfficialvegan sausage rolls.”

Orangutans spend 95% of their lives in trees, but Indonesia’s forests are lost at a rate of a football pitch every 25 seconds.
