Rennes revved up for repeat

- GUNNING FOR GLORY BY DARREN LEWIS

ARSENAL have been warned by Rennes not to expect an easy ride as they bid to overturn a Europa League deficit.

The Gunners are widely expected to bounce back at the Emirates tomorrow after losing 3-1 in the first leg of their knockout stage tie in France last week.

But forward Adrien Hunou has insisted that the Rennes dressing room remains equally as bullish, despite the strength of Unai Emery’s side at home.

Hunou said: “Arsenal remain favourites for the second leg. We expect a really difficult match, with a fair amount of space.

“There is only a two-goal difference. But, anyway, we are going to have to value our strengths, like we did in the first leg.”

Hunou has scored four times in his last seven games, but failed to find the net in last week’s win.

He bounced back in Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Caen and reckons his side are ready for tomorrow night’s showdown.

“We watched a bit of Arsenal’s win over Manchester

United in the dressing room, it was on the TV,” Hunou added.

“We saw they were winning 2-0. They will want to demonstrate a big reaction, it will be an important match for them, like it is for us, which they have prepared well for by beating Manchester United.

“As I was saying, what is most important, is that we remain focused on our performance.”
