Murder-suicide doc left note quoting Blade Runner

-

A GP accused of stealing £400,000 of taxpayer cash shot his girlfriend and then killed himself after leaving a note quoting the Blade Runner line “Time to die”, an inquest heard.

Dr Titus Bradley, 42, moved to Cape Verde, off West Africa, with partner Noemi Gergely, 27, after allegedly embezzling the money from four practices he ran in West Sussex while living in Weymouth, Dorset.

A hearing was told he admitted having cash woes to his mum in the weeks ahead of the murder-suicide. He also said he had split from Hungarian PR Noemi and regretted leaving his wife and their two children. Police found their bodies in a hotel bathroom in April last year along with a 6.35mm pistol.

Officers then found a note containing the quote from the 1982 Ridley Scott film, spoken by villain Roy Batty in his final moments.

Assistant coroner Richard Middleton said: “It starts with the phrase, ‘Time to die’. It makes reference to him having a gun, apologises for mistakes and makes reference to him knowing some day he would be caught.”

Dr Bradley moved to Sao Vicente at short notice in 2017, where he lived on a yacht and Sarah Mclellan with Ralph and, left, pesky pooch with his sister Edie on the right ran a fishing trip business. It later emerged that police were probing the theft of hundreds of thousands of pounds from NHS funds.

In a statement by his mum, Gail Seery, the Bournemouth inquest heard: “Shortly before he died he was in touch a great deal. He said he and Noemi were no longer a couple. He was strangely furious with her. It was an on/ off, like/hate relationship.

“He mentioned about suicide and told me he had a gun but had ‘pussied out’.”

Mr Middleton concluded that Dr Bradley had committed suicide.
